SANTA CLARITA – Authorities on Tuesday released updated photos of the suspect wanted for shooting to death a 21-year-old Lancaster man in Santa Clarita last week. Sheriff’s officials also released photos of two men they said were spotted with murder suspect Michael McGlothan about an hour after the May 6 killing of Ledarion Demont Allen Jr.

McGlothan and the two unidentified men were seen around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, in the Mission Hills area of Los Angeles, homicide detectives said in a press release. The men were on foot, going west on Roscoe Boulevard from Sepulveda Boulevard, detectives said.

McGlothan, who also uses the name Michael Batiste, has recently lost a lot weight, “likely in an attempt to disguise himself,” detectives said in the press release.

He is black, 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighs around 170 pounds, according to the updated description provided by detectives. He should be considered armed and dangerous, the sheriff’s department warned. [View the revised wanted poster for McGlothan here. View the special bulletin about his two associates here.]

McGlothan and his two accomplices are wanted in connection with a fatal shooting in an apartment in the 27500 block of Sierra Highway, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Responding deputies found a woman with a gunshot wound to her shoulder and she was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening wounds. However, Ledarion Demont Allen Jr. of Lancaster suffered a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter.

“Witnesses recalled hearing screams coming from the location prior to gunshots being heard,” Deputy Guillermina Saldana of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau said. Two men were seen leaving the location, one headed east and the other west, the deputy said.

Anyone with information on the suspects is encouraged to contact Detective O’Quinn or Detective Luera of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 800) 222-TIPS (8477).
