LANCASTER — Following concerns raised by Vice Mayor Marvin Crist and the Lancaster City Council, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has agreed to make significant changes to its traffic control plan for the SR-14 lane closures, Lancaster city officials announced.
Key changes to the plan include:
— Maintaining two lanes of traffic north of Avenue I: Caltrans will now ensure that two lanes remain open north of Avenue I for the duration of the project, easing traffic flow and reducing congestion.
— Segmented approach from Technology Drive to Avenue H: Caltrans will adopt a segmented approach to the construction work between Technology Drive and Avenue H to minimize disruption and maintain smoother traffic flow.
“This is a win for our community, and we could not have done this without the advocacy of Vice Mayor Crist and our Council,” Lancaster Mayor R. Rex Parris said in a news release. “Our community relies on the 14 freeway and they deserve as minimal disruption as possible.”
“Our relentless efforts to advocate for the needs of Lancaster’s residents have paid off,” Crist added. “These changes by Caltrans are a testament to what we can achieve when we speak up for our community.”

I totally agree. Every time an issue is raised, I am always impressed by the prompt responses to address them. Thank you the Lancaster leadership! May God bless you and give you all the wisdom and discernment to overcome all the challenges still pending like crime and homelessness.

Oh pullleeeeeeaaaaassssse. Marv and the good old boys knew this was happening for a long time. They did a poor job of notifying the public and for working with them to make sure there was a plan in place to help ease congestion. This is more election year posturing for team Wrecks.

These Lancaster republicans must be in full crisis mode over this. Don’t forget Ken Mann serves with Marvin the manipulator on the transportation board that pushed this poorly thought out HOV plan that has created a traffic disaster on out local freeway. Must be election season for these guys.
