PALMDALE – The seventh annual Kaleidoscope Art & Music Festival kicks off Friday, Oct. 6, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., with live, illuminated entertainment at the Palmdale Amphitheater.

Titled Kaleidoscope After Dark, the opening celebration will feature the first-ever Antelope Valley drone show, as well as live entertainment on the ground that includes Light Beings and the electrified glow-in-the-dark dance extravaganza iLuminate.

The event will also feature an After Dark Paint & Sip, tastings, music, and more, according to organizers. Tickets for Kaleidoscope After Dark are $5 for adults and free for children 12 and under with a ticket reservation. A $10 tasting ticket, with admission and four tastings for guests 21 and older, is also available.

Festivities continue on Saturday, Oct. 7, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with two stages of live music.  Kaleidoscope’s main Tapestry Stage will feature various world music acts, while the Mosaic Stage showcases local musicians, vocalists, and a spoken word poetry workshop.

The event will also feature free painting lessons for adults and children; live artists creating murals and chalk art throughout the day; plein air, cellograff, and paper quilling; and spinning wheel demonstrations. Attendees can view art created by local emerging artists in the ArtLight tent; shop for unique items at the Kaleidoscope Market; and sample food and beverages from local brewing companies, wineries, and food trucks.

There will be free activities in a Youth Inspiration area; Living Butterfly Vines by day or Light Beings by night; and roaming improv actors dressed as notable artists from the past.  For complete details and Kaleidoscope After Dark tickets, visit www.kaleidoscopeartfestival.com.
