Mike Garcia leads by 405 votes in 25th Congressional District race

Republican Mike Garcia and Democrat Christy Smith.

LOS ANGELES – Republican Rep. Mike Garcia now leads Democratic Assemblywoman Christy Smith by 405 votes in the race to represent a 25th Congressional District.

Garcia added 18 votes to his lead in Friday’s count. He has 169,464 votes, or 50.1%, while Smith has 169,059, or 49.9%, according to figures released by the Secretary of State’s Office.

An unknown number of ballots remain to be counted in the 25th Congressional District, which stretches from the Antelope Valley into Ventura County. Results of the Nov. 3 election are scheduled to be certified Monday.

Garcia, R-Santa Clarita, led by 387 votes entering Friday’s count. He claimed victory Nov. 20 when he led by 400.

Smith, D-Santa Clarita, took a 1,287-vote lead on Nov. 9 after trailing by 432 votes at the start of that day’s count. Garcia regained the lead Nov. 10, pulling 159 votes ahead and has led at the end of each day’s count since then.

Garcia defeated Smith, 54.86%-45.14%, or 95,667-78,721, in a May 12 special election to fill the final 7 1/2 months of the term of former Rep. Katie Hill, D-Agua Dulce, who resigned following the online release of salacious photos and allegations of an extramarital affair with a staff member.

The seat had long been held by Republicans until Hill’s 2018 victory over then-Rep. Steve Knight, R-Palmdale.

If all the votes are not counted by end of day today, will the election still be certified?

It’s a landslide for Garcia I tell you, a landslide.

That or the Far Left is loosing it’s touch at registering the dead, convicts, illegal aliens, Union members, Teacher Union members, Welfare recipients, Serria Highway street walkers, and other Democratic party voting blocks.

    Go Mike Go….

Little Mikey will be in the minority in the House likely led by Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

He will be as useless as Steve Knight was. Whatever happened to Baby Jan…..I mean Knight?

I think Nasty Nancy is going to have a hard time wrangling all the Cats in her majority.

        Consider:

The majority of Democrats over Republicans will be at a historical low. Right now that majority is like 225 to 209.

The Far Left, AOC and her “squad mates”, want what they want and what they want is Far Left Socialism. Americans are rejecting this brand of hard left thinking on many issues along with a middle class desire for Law and Order, not Black Lies lawlessness.

OrangeManBad is gone, it’s now Uncle Joe who won’t be able to hide out in his basement. Who are Liberal going to hate on, use demagogy on? I give Biden maybe a year for his mental issues to be covered up and hidden by the Trump hating MSM, then it’s 25th Amendment time.

The Senate will stay Republican and Cocaine Mitch will stop just about 100 Percent of the very liberal agenda that Uncle Joe puts forward. I’ll bet it takes 6 months to get a full cabinet through the Senate.

Garcia might have arrived at the right time to be an effective back bencher, it’s up to him. He just has to stay away from the ghost of OrangemanBad, and the worst aspects of the Far Right of the Republican party.
