LA County man charged with casting votes on behalf of dead mother

by The AV Times Staff • August 18, 2020

LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles County man pleaded not guilty Tuesday to charges that he cast votes in three elections on behalf of his mother, years after her death.

Caesar Peter Abutin, 55, of Norwalk, is charged with one felony count each of fraud in connection with votes cast and fraudulent voting, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

Abutin allegedly voted in three elections between October 2012 and November 2014, claiming to be his mother, while also casting votes on his own behalf, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

Abutin’s mother died in July 2006 at the age of 67, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

Abutin could face up to three years in state prison if convicted as charged.

The case stemmed from a probe by the District Attorney’s Bureau of Investigation with the assistance of the Los Angeles County Registrar- Recorder/County Clerk’s Office.

Probably. Democrats excuse any crime if it benefits them personally.

Mitt Romney (R) used his kid’s address to vote in Massachusetts when he no longer lived in that state.

This shows that the system does work to catch people doing that.

One or two people voting fraudulently out of 100s of millions isn’t WIDESPREAD VOTER FRAUD you ninnies.

Good luck with using that logical reasoning…they really can’t hear that well. It spoils the narrative they’ve predisposed themselves to embrace.

But, keep up the good fight…

I bet they voted conservative and that is why they were caught. If it would have been the other way it would have gone unnoticed.

Without a doubt Trump would have found this somehow if the voted Democrat and claimed voter fraud is every where on Twitter. He doesnt need the media. I dont understand how voting by mail gives Dems an edge? Republicans dont cheat? I dont see an advantage either way. Just stop screwing with the post office. My grandmother’s birthday card late. Lol.

people cheat. that’s what people do regardless of political affiliation, gender, religion, etc. But, if he was a Republican, it’ll be all over the media. You can bet on that.

California needs to do a better job of registering deaths and removing/flagging those people so this can’t happen.
California information technology is a mess
