Palmdale named among safest cities in California by SafeHome.org

by The AV Times Staff • March 25, 2020

[File]
PALMDALE – The city of Palmdale was ranked the 22nd safest city (population 100,000 and up) and 80th safest of all in California, according to a recent study by SafeHome.org.

Of the 231 scored cities in California, Palmdale’s violent crime number of 3.7 per 1,000 residents was lower than the state of California’s rate of 4.5 incidents per 1,000 people for the second year in a row. Palmdale’s property crime rate was 15.4 incidents per 1,000, lower than the state’s rate of 23.8 incidents per 1,000.

Danville, with a population of 45,202, ranked as the number one safest city. For a complete list, visit https://www.safewise.com/blog/safest-cities-california/.

“According to SafeHome.org report, California is more worried about safety than the rest of the country, but its safest cities such as Palmdale boast crime rates well below both state and national averages,” said Palmdale Mayor Steve Hofbauer. “It’s a testament to the ongoing efforts of working as a team — city staff, law enforcement, and our residents. We need to remain vigilant and, as always, if you see something, say something.”

“When you think of the quality of life amenities that make a city desirable to live, work, and play in, public safety is always at the top of the list,” said Palmdale City Manager J.J. Murphy. “Our City Council has made public safety our top priority, whether it is addressing crime issues or the current coronavirus pandemic. We will continue to move forward demonstrating Palmdale Cares and is a great place to call home.”

This might be right for now. But the city of L.A. isn’t near finished dumping its undesirables up here yet either.

Now that is a complete joke all the criminals in the Antelope Valley Palmdale and Lancaster here go down to Santa Clarita
And Los Angels to do the crimes never here on 47th and Avenue West a guy walk right into McDonald’s and shut the kid in the head same thing as a liquor store across the street from Taco Bell on 47th Street who is the City of Palmdale trying to impress
So hit-and-runs by DUI and illegal immigrants isn’t a crime ??

Yep! Lie and obfuscat while putting the residents of Palmdale at extreme risk of death! SafeHome.org is nothing but another bunch of lying piece of [removed] pushers of liberal lies!

One of the traditional ways liberals downgrade American communities is by approving extraordinary numbers of new liquor stores. Liquor stores in such numbers impossible to explain. But with liberals in command, the few residents that haven’t moved away forever yet are never far from their next fifth of ice cold Night Train. Along with the latest selection of discount crack pipes.

Back to 90210 with you Crossroads.

We know you were living large there.

It could be worse Crossroads. You could be stuck in Rex’s Lancaster. Palmdale is paradise compared to this place. Drive around the east side. Division and K and J are scary.

There’s really no “there” there in Lancaster, is there?

The dilapidated blvd of lost dreams is a loser.

Half empty old shopping centers scattered around. Franchise businesses just build somewhere else.

There’s a lot of traffic as people drive around looking for something, anything and it’s not in Lancaster.

I wonder how much they pay “SafeHome.org” for the ratings?

    • Kenny says

      March 25, 2020 at 5:47 pm

Even Rex can’t buy his way to a good rating here. He may own the DA, every judge in town, AVTA, water boards, and politicians but once you get outside the Valley, his is nothing but a crazed podunk hick with way too much money and far too little sane thoughts.

Meanwhile in Lancaster, the Eye in the Sky flies, Frank cashes his $90K check courtesy of the taxpayer, and the crime rate and pandhandling grows. Rex Our Mayor the signs say. Our Mayor has led us to more crime, more cronyism, more lawsuits, more failed programs. Thanks Rex.

He is not Palmdale. Thank you Jesus!! Even the sheriff department says Lancaster is far worse in crime. Homeless city.

      • Alby says

        March 26, 2020 at 5:47 pm

There is a difference between homeless people and scumbags. Lancaster is mostly full of scumbags that choose to be on the streets.

        • The Apostle says

          March 26, 2020 at 8:10 pm

The real scumbags in Lancaster are the ones who give taxpayer money to their pals for boondoggles like the Eye in the Sky or no bid contracts for so called homeless housing that really isnt. Scumbags take a million dollars from the county for a homeless shelter then close it. Scumbags also ruin the lives of people like Raymond Lee Jennings, Randy Floyd, and Esmeralda Jorge.
