ROSAMOND –  Kern County Sheriff’s detectives served search warrants in Rosamond on Wednesday and seized thousands of marijuana plants, a shotgun and body armor, authorities said.

The search warrants were executed in the 2800 block of Sierra Highway and the 5900 block of Willow Avenue, according to a news release from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office.

“During the execution of the warrants, detectives located the following: 3,759 marijuana plants with an estimated street value of over $17,000,000, one shotgun, several high capacity magazines, and body armor,” the news release states.

Sarkis Saradzhyan, 24, and Marazyan Hovhannes, 64, were arrested on suspicion of illegal cultivation of marijuana, maintaining a place for the purposes of sales, conspiracy, and discarding hazardous waste into a sewer system, according to the news release.

An additional charge of resisting arrest was added to Hovhannes for barricading himself in a fortified building. Both individuals were booked into the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Central Receiving Facility.

The warrants were executed by the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit, Kern County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, deputies of the East Area Substations, and wardens of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.

And they thought they’d get away with it. Sooner or later, you’re gonna get caught.

There will always be black-market weed even though the legal marijuana shops are very convenient. The problem is the shops are expensive and also charge taxes and make you buy a special zip-lock bag to carry the weed out of the shop. The bag ends up in the trash 5 minutes later. A 50$ bag of weed from a shop ends up costing 60$.

    Definitely not eco-friendly cannabis.

It’s illegal to have a fortified building to barricade yourself in? Was it their building? It seems that nitpicky A-holes are making such laws. Charge them for being ugly too why dont you.

Kern officials became aware of the grow operation in October 2016. Took almost three years to act.

I expect more shops to be forced closed because Major companies taking over the buisness..Just like they did with Grocery Stores..

Major companies is one thing, but when Wrecks and his crew got involved you just knew that corrupt law enforcement would be eager to be used as their private thugs.

The first permits issued in Lancaster went to Wrecks’ contributors. What a shock.

And they are very actively working with law enforcement to eliminate competitors…mostly because they are growing flat out ragweed that they will only be able to sell if they get a monopoly, I assume. Well, that’s probably wrong…Wrecks give them access to badged thugs, so they no doubt would be using them against their competitors even if they DID have a decent strain of weed.

Meanwhile, guess which “consultant” they paid handsomely to help make sure their licensed grow didn’t violate any fire codes. Wonder what else they are getting from the mayor of Palmdale for that payola.

Of all the low, corrupt, vile, insidious and greedy things that Rex & Co. do (and you have so eloquently brought to our attention), making us consume their rag weed and letting Chinese commie spies into our valley pisses me off the most. Every city has corrupt politicians but Rex & Co. are beyond the pale.

No one is making you consume anything. As for growing flat out ragweed, well, anyone that knows anything, knows if you sell a bunk product, you won’t make any money. Why? because the consumer knows better. Nothing eloquent in a comment that is ridiculous, but sycophants can’t see beyond their idols. He like being idolized because he’s insecure.

This Valley would be much better minus Wrecks, Communist Chinese, and ragweed.

This wonderful A.V. would be much better off with excellent cannabis, and much better off without radical right wing Nazi’s; radical left wing Communists, and the freely growing ragweed.
