PALMDALE – One motorist was arrested for driving under the influence  of alcohol, and 13 people were arrested for other violations at a DUI/ driver’s license checkpoint in Palmdale this past weekend, authorities said.

The checkpoint was conducted by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department from 6 p.m. Friday, May 31, to 2 a.m. Saturday, June 1, in the westbound lanes of Palmdale Boulevard, between 15th Street East and 17th Street East , according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

The results of the checkpoint are as follows:

  • One person arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
  • 13 drivers cited/arrested for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license.
  • 21 citations issued.
  • Four vehicles towed.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department will be conducting additional DUI/driver’s license checkpoints and saturation patrols throughout the year as part of an ongoing commitment to lowering deaths and injuries upon streets and highways.

Funding for these operations is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Since we have so many ignorant drivers in Palmdale put their names up and immigration status I’ll bet you most
    Were illegal

Just saying that’s my thought since he broke the law by coming here illegally to Sanctuary City more hit and runs with these people

I have to disagree with your bet that most will be illegal.
First hand experience, as a passenger, I have ridden with 4 people that knowingly ran stop signs, stop lights, or passed illegally. Every one of them born here. Evert one had an argument as to why they could get away with it.
We need to bring drivers ed back to schools.

Well I disagree and this money should be spent to give the CHP on the 14 freeway Northbound and southbound to give these gravel truck drivers tickets and impound their vehicles trucks are 55 miles an hour not 80 and 85 miles an hour
