Man critically injured after 3-vehicle crash in Palmdale

by The AV Times Staff • March 27, 2018

PALMDALE –  A driver was critically injured Sunday night after his vehicle crossed over the center median and collided with two vehicles in Palmdale, authorities said.

The crash happened around 11:30 p.m. Sunday, March 25, on Pearblossom Highway and 25th Street East, according to a news release from the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station.

“The preliminary facts of this investigation indicate that a male in a 2003 Infiniti G35 was traveling eastbound on Pearblossom Highway when, for unknown reasons, the driver crossed over the center median and was struck by a 2011 Toyota Corolla driven by a female adult that was traveling westbound on Pearblossom Highway,” the news release states.

“A third vehicle was involved and collided with the Infiniti G35. The drivers and passengers that [were] traveling westbound were transported to Palmdale Regional Medical Center where they were treated for their injuries and released,” the sheriff’s news release states.

The Infiniti’s driver was transported to Antelope Valley Hospital with major injuries and is listed in “critical condition,” according to the news release. His identity was not immediately released.

Pearblossom Highway, from 25th to 30th Street East, was closed until around 5:45 a.m. Monday, March 26, to allow for the collision scene investigation.

Does anyone know the person that passed away? I was moments behind the accident and arrived on scene prior to emergency personnel. I tried to help the person in the Infirmity but was unable to render any aid. I stayed on scene praying for the victims. I’m heart-broken to hear a life was lost and subsequently, many others changed for ever.

God bless the family members and the one who lost his life, I pray for his soul to be with the Lord.

The stretch from Sierra hwy to just past 25th E is deadly. 60mph speed limit and the only divider is a painted double line 6″ wide. I always drive in the right lane because of the danger. This needs to be fixed. Either a concrete k-rail or a painted center divider.

I passed by there right after the accident had happened. And the lady from the Corolla was in shock saying “oh my god, look what I did. Look at what I did. I am so sorry” and the police were telling her to keep calm and to be quiet. That lady knew she did something to cause the accident but isn’t saying it now.

That’s correct. Female Driver of toyota carolla swerved “head on” into traffic going the opposite direction …

Where you there or something? LOL because the police report indicates the male driver swerved to her lane not the other way around. Unless the responding officers where just effing around doing a sloppy job.

I hate driving that damn Pearblossom Hwy. Too many stupid people behind the wheel. Speeding is no problem for some, they don’t care, as long as they get there ‘yesterday’.
That Hwy from 40th East all the way to the 14 Fwy needs a center divider of some kind.
Night time driving on the Hwy is disasterous.
