by The AV Times Staff • February 1, 2016

Apply NowPALMDALE – The city of Palmdale is accepting applications for one term on the Board of Library Trustees for a position that will expire in June of 2017.

The Board of Library Trustees is a group overseeing the Palmdale City Library that sets policies, helps with future planning and goal-setting, and acts as a liaison with groups such as the Friends of the Library, the City of Palmdale and others. The Board also helps advocate for the Library with elected officials and community stakeholders.

Interested persons for this unpaid position may obtain an application on the City’s website at www.cityofpalmdale.org, or in the City Clerk’s office, located at 38300 Sierra Highway, Suite C.

Applications must be returned by 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, to the City Clerk’s office.

To qualify, applicants must be a city of Palmdale resident, demonstrate interest in the Palmdale City Library, and be able to attend regular meetings of the Board on the third Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m.

Applicants are encouraged to attach a resume. If appointed, a completed state mandated Statement of Economic Interests would be required.

“Want to be part of a dynamic organization utterly devoted to public service? Then consider joining the team,” stated Library Director Thomas Vose. “We’re seeking the strongest library supporters in the city to help shape the library’s future.”

For more information, call the City Clerk at 661-267-5151.
