2 suspects sought in Palmdale carjacking

by City News Service • December 7, 2015

PALMDALE – Authorities are searching for two men who carjacked two teenagers in Palmdale  Thursday evening.

The incident began at the intersection of 6th Street East and Avenue R at about 7:45 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, said sheriff’s Lt. Brian Dunn.

The two suspects approached two 17-year-old males while they were sitting in a car, Dunn said.

“One of the men pulled out a handgun and the two suspects forced themselves into the car and told the owner to drive a short distance,”Dunn said. “The two suspects then ordered the driver to stop and forced the two teens into the back seat. They drove another short distance and then stopped and ordered the two teens out of the car. Then the suspects drove away.”

Dunn said detectives were searching for a blue 2000 BMW sedan, license number 6VHX300.

The case, Dunn said, was both a carjacking and a kidnapping because the suspects forced the teens to stay in the car and drove them away.

It is being handled by Major Crimes detectives. Anyone with information on these suspects or the whereabouts of the car is encouraged to call the sheriff’s Palmdale station at (661) 272-2400.
