Volunteer opportunities at City of Palmdale

PALMDALE – The City of Palmdale has several opportunities available in various departments for residents looking to volunteer their time.

“It’s a very exciting time to be a resident of Palmdale,” stated Community Programs Supervisor Trish Jones. “There are so many different things going on throughout the City that we have opportunities to engage at almost every level.”

The City is seeking volunteers for the following areas:

* Techmobile

The Palmdale City Library is seeking adult volunteers to assist with the newly debuted TechMobile. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and able to commit to at least one Thursday per month, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

* Engagement

Community Programs is seeking adult volunteers to assist in various community outreach activities. Volunteers should be available one day per week, Monday through Thursday, for a minimum of three hours. Computer skills, including word and excel, and strong customer service skills are required.

* Communications Outreach

The City is seeking multiple volunteers to assist with distribution of City materials throughout the community. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and have reliable transportation. Flexible hours are available.

* Palmdale Playhouse

The Palmdale Playhouse is seeking volunteers to assist at events and performances. Successful candidates will be able to commit to at least one shift per month. Shifts are primarily scheduled during the evening and weekend hours.

* Neighborhood Services

Neighborhood Services is seeking outgoing, energetic volunteers to assist in the office and occasionally accompany compliance officers in the field. Candidates should be 18 years of age or older, have strong customer service skills and be computer literate in word and excel. Volunteers must be available Monday through Thursday and have a clean driving record.

Volunteers for all positions must complete a background check prior to acceptance.
