PALMDALE – A pedestrian who may have been intent on suicide was fatally struck by a pickup truck in East Palmdale Wednesday night, authorities said.
Dikkii Nunley, 48, of Palmdale, was pronounced dead at 10:05 p.m. at the scene of the collision, which occurred on the 1700 block of East Palmdale Blvd., according to coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter.
The case was being investigated as a possible suicide, Winter said, citing the preliminary investigation.
“The reported information is he [Nunley] was seen on a road kneeled down in front of a moving vehicle,” Winter said.
Nunley was struck by a Dodge pickup truck that was headed eastbound on Palmdale Boulevard.
Los Angeles County sheriff’s Lt. Frank Quichocho said the truck’s driver was not detained.
Traffic was shut down on Palmdale Blvd., between 17th East and 20th East, from about 10 p.m. to 3 a.m., to allow for the investigation.
