WASHINGTON, DC – Rep. Steve Knight (R-Antelope Valley) was officially sworn in Tuesday as a member of the 114th Congress.
“I am thrilled to start in my new role as a member of the House of Representatives and to begin serving the people of the 25th Congressional District,” stated Knight.
This marks Knight’s inaugural term as a US Congressman, after formerly serving in the California State Assembly and State Senate.
Knight is the first person in history from the Antelope Valley to be elected to Congress, and he will serve on the House Committee on Armed Services and House Committee on Science, Space and Technology.
“I am excited to work with Representative Knight this legislative session,” said fellow California Representative and Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy. “His knowledge and passion for defense and aerospace will make him a valuable asset to the committees he has been assigned to.”
The 114th Congress convened for the first time Tuesday morning, and will begin assigning subcommittees in the following weeks.
Knight represents California’s 25th Congressional District in the US House of Representatives, which includes the communities throughout the Antelope, Santa Clarita and Simi Valleys.

We the latino community, who make the majority of your constituents, are going to be waching you very closely to see how you vote on important issues like: immigration reform, the jobs bill, social security, keystone pipe line, the affordable care act, etc. If you start siding with the do nothing republican party, we will ensure to vote you out.
