Man arrested after alleged kidnapping in Lancaster

by The AV Times Staff • December 20, 2014

LANCASTER– A 61-year-old man was arrested Saturday for allegedly trying to kidnap a 4-year-old girl from her home yard, authorities said.

Earl Williams allegedly entered the fenced yard and grabbed the child, but the kidnapping was foiled by the victim’s 13-year-old sibling, according to a news release from the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station. Read it below:

At approximately 11:55 a.m. [Saturday, Dec. 20], Lancaster deputies were patrolling the 300 block of West Kildare Street in the city of Lancaster, when they were flagged down by citizens in the area advising them of an attempt kidnapping.

The citizens directed deputies to the suspect, who was still in the neighborhood. Deputies located and detained the suspect pending further investigation.

Preliminary investigation revealed the suspect was seen in the neighborhood pacing near the home where the victim lived.

The suspect entered the fenced yard and asked the 4-year-old victim’s name. The suspect reached down, grabbed the child and started to walk away with the victim.

The victim’s 13-year-old sibling grabbed the victim’s arm, preventing the suspect from fleeing with the victim, and yelled for someone to call 9-1-1.

The suspect [Earl Williams, 61] was arrested and booked at Lancaster Station for kidnapping. The victim was not injured.

The investigation is being handled by Lancaster Station detectives.

Williams is due back in court Jan. 20. He remains jailed on $2.2 million bail.

Is this guy one of those ankle-tagged perverts living in Lancaster? And if not, he should be. I feel sorry for the children of Lancaster who cannot be free to live a happy life because of the horrendous amount of sexual predators that are released into their city.

I doubt it. If so he’ll be out on parole in no time and another victim up for grabs.
