UPDATED: Man shot to death in Lancaster ID’d

Homicide investigationLANCASTER – A man was shot to death inside a Lancaster home early Saturday morning, authorities said.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released. Homicide detectives have released little information on the incident, which occurred around 2:05 a.m., Saturday, June 28, in the 43800 block of David Street, according to a press release from the Sheriff’s Headquarters Bureau. Read it below:

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man which occurred on Saturday June 28, 2014.

Detectives have learned that a male white adult, who was a resident of the location, was fatally shot inside the house.

It was learned that two males were seen running from the house immediately following the shooting.

The motive for the shooting remains the under investigation.

There is no further information at this time.

Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500.

The man shot to death has been identified as 27-year-old Marc Darrel Spinner of Lancaster, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

  1. I just found out about this tragedy today. I worked with Marc at guitar center briefly. I’m deeply saddened. My condolences to his family.may he rest with God and justice be done.

  2. I remember Marc as energetic, quick to smile, and friendly. After he left high school, I ran into him a few times and was proud to see the man he had become. My condolences to Marc’s family and friends. Although he will be missed by many, he will live on through the love he shared.

  7. I didn’t know you Marc or family, I’m just a resident new to Lancaster and came across this news story. It is very saddening. Heartbreaking. You were around my age and everybody loves you so much. My boyfriend is just 27 years old and I can’t imagine his short life ending right now. It’s so unfair that so many good people lose their lives to petty, lowlife, thug, druggie criminals(which I imagine is the case in this instance)I hope your friends and family raise the money they need to send you off with a bang. Friends and family of this wonderful young man, I hope each and every one of you And then some, are at each & every court hearing, once the cowards who did this are brought to justice.   8. I wanted to say I am so sorry for ur loss Dana, Joshua, and Cameron, my thought and prayers go out to u and the family and friends of this beautiful soul. Marc I loved how u loved, cared, and looked after ur mom and little brothers. U were the most respectful, polite, kind hearted, and happy young man I had the pleasure to meet. I love the friend u have been to my son Jeffery Clark since ur guys 9th grade year in high school. I will ride with the decal made by ur friend Christopher proudly in honor of u, and I pray that the LORD will bring ur killer to justice so ur mom and brothers can be at peace knowing they cannot do this to another person. Look at the headlines of today’s paper the title reads “Intruders to blame in shooting?”. what the [removed], why a question mark. “Friends claim”. Come on officials claim their doing their job but all they cant release anything, the title should Lancaster sheriffs cant do their job!!! Come on man, the truth is plain as day. Marc is a fallen angel and nothing can change that, the only thing to do is see that true justice is served. The question is,” what is gonna be done to ensure this wrong is wighted.   14. You were a great friend Marc. You were always willing to help anyone with anything they needed at the drop of a hat. We met though Scikotics car club many years ago, and you were always so passionate (and loud) about cars. We had some good times. Then I got to work with you at Honda for almost a year.. MORE good times. There was never a dull moment. Like when we were going to take the mustang on a joy ride and got caught! haha.. You were such an enthusiastic, and outgoing person no matter what you did. The world definitely lost a great person, but I’m sure heaven is treating you well. Gone but never forgotten.   16. I knew Marc from AV High School. I would like to let the family know I am sorry for their tragic loss. Ten years ago my nephew was murdered and Victims of Violent Crimes paid $7000 in funeral costs. I don’t know if they are still an active organization but if someone could check that out it may help.
