Free DCFS assistance at Palmdale Library

DCFSPALMDALE – The Palmdale City Library will be hosting a seminar entitled “What to Do When DCFS Knocks at Your Door: An Overview of the Dependency Process in LA County.”

The free seminar is scheduled for Saturday, June 21, from 1 to 3 p.m., at the Library, located at 700 East Palmdale Boulevard.

It will be hosted by attorney Candace Jones, and it is open to the public. DCFS stands for Department of Children and Family Services.

“We’re always glad for the opportunity to provide legal assistance to our public,” said Library Director Thomas Vose.  “If you need help in this area, now is your chance to get it.”

The Palmdale City Library is open seven days a week. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 10 am to 8 pm; Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm; and Sunday from 1 to 5 pm.

  2. I congratulate all the social workers who protested and stand up for families its just sad that the Dcfs gives some if you all a bad name. There ate good apples and some snakes in there its just time to seperate from the two.

    The advice on here is bull s***. Everything is an illusion everything is a fraud. If you are going to do something sue sue sue and teach your children to sue sue sue. Parents and families perish by the system due to a lack of knowledge.

The government really wants to help my family and I but I that would require parents to cost Dcfs and the courts and entities money. Every time they steal kill destroy and lie a parent needs to sue and cost Dcfs to lose money. Otherwise be a ostrich in the sand… when you don’t cost Dcfs a loss then you pay the way for them to continue. I am 24 I been a victim since 21 and I have grown from it and put my middle finger in the air. You can never lose a right to your child through Dcfs stop believing the lies on these comments. Dcfs has no right they operate in the reptilian part of their brains. They are limited in their thinking and only operate in ego tistical behaviors that plague the western world today.   5. “What to Do When DCFS Knocks at Your Door:” NOTHING….Dont answer the door!!! If they do not have a warrant you do not have any obligation to respond, let them in, and definitely not to hand over your children. These thugs need a warrant, signed by a real judge (not themselves, not the police, not anyone else but a real sitting judge) to take children into custody or to enter your home or to question you or your children.) Don’t do it!!! And DO NOT let them scare, intimidate, or coerce you into signing a ‘case plan’. A case plan is an admission of guilt. They will tell you that if you don’t sign that devil deed that you will never get your child back from their evil clutches. NOT TRUE – the opposite is likely true – I’ve seen countless testimony from innocent parents who signed the guilty plea deal and never got their children back. If you sign the case plan they will have you running around taking classes you don’t need and that won’t necessarily help you but will take time away from your job, looking for a job, or other productive activities. Make them get a court order for any needed services and only do the services if they are ordered by a court. Again….Do not answer the door, do not voluntarily sign a case plan, do not talk to these people unless through an experienced private attorney, always video and audio record, and use email to document or follow up an contact with these devils. Get support from online groups and survivors of the DCFS nightmare if you are a falsely accused parents. No joke – there are parents who have lost their kids permanently over a few dishes in the sink or a false allegation to the anonymous abuse hotline by a neighbor with an ax to grind. DO NOT LET THESE THUGS INTO YOUR HOME and warn your children not to talk about home or parents to any strange adults at their school or daycare or anywhere else. These thugs can appear kind and caring and say they are going to assist you …but they are on a fishing expedition to build evidence against you and often twist the facts or anything you say to fit the case they are making against you. You have been warned!!!

  6. What a joke. ..”.an overview of the dependency process” There is no process. DCFS workers and their supervisors do not follow any rules. They make up their “rules” as they go along. The whole department needs to be replaced by one that truly services families and cares about them. They are out to destroy families not preserve them.

  7. DCFS needs to be disbanned. Their workers and supervisors act as if they are above the law. They hold secret meetings; blame the victims, do not follow judges orders; their workers lie, intimidate and coherse. They cannot be investigated as their policies prevent outside agencies to do so. DCFS stands for the Department of Cohersion and Fake Services. Their workers are lazy and will never admit to wrong doing. They should be held accountable for all the damage they cause to families falsely accused. Their system is corrupt. They don’t even adhere to their own policies. The federal government should intervene and create a task force to do away with Los Angeles County DCFS. There needs to be accountability and they have none. Next time DCFS COMES TO YOUR DOOR DON’T LET THEM IN!! CALL A LAWYER and BE INFORMED. DO NOT LET THEM INTIMIDATE YOU. PROTECT YOUR FAMILY. ONCE YOU LET THEM IN THEY WILL DESTROY YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN. THEY ARE NOT INTERESTED IN THE TRUTH. THEY JUST WANT YOUR CHILDREN TO JUSTIFY THEIR CASELOADS AND FUNDING. You will automatically lose power over your children and even if they allow them to stay under your roof technically they become ward of the state.

    • The seminar should inform parents of their rights, something that court appointed lawyers do not do. 1) The social worker’s report becomes FACT if it not contested. 2) By “submitting” or cooperating at the detention hearing, parents will NEVER again be allowed to address the issue of whether the kids were removed in the first place. 3) By cooperating and submitting to the SS worker/dept civil charges, parents are pleading GUILTY!!! 4) After submitting (ie cooperating), the report that becomes evidence will be used as a reason to terminate parental rights at a later time…. the list goes on…..
      Are you talking about that type of help? You’re not going to be there to help people submit are you?

  10. This is just sad. They obviously have so many families in the system and expect to see so many more that they are actually preparing people to deal with them when they randomly show up on a doorstep. What they need to be doing is teaching parenting classes, host family support groups, provide mentors (i.e. the big brother/big sister programs)etc. In other words, they shouldn’t be teaching people about how to deal with DCFS when they come knocking, they should be helping families take preventative measures to assure that DCFS never has a reason to get involved in the first place.

  12. It’s about time they held a seminar like this. DCFS is out of control! Their system lacks any semblance of constitutionality – and then they don’t even follow their own policies! Their ‘dependency court’ is an absolute mockery of any real court where DCFS may make any and all unsupported accusations in secret court ‘hearings’ that are automatically taken as facts with no ability of those being accused of refuting anything.

    They need to be disbanded and reorganized completely.

      • Very true! DCFS also ascribes to the Goebbels theory of evidence. If somebody makes an accusation enough times, even if proven not true each time, then it must be true anyways and will be used as ‘evidence’ in one of their kangaroos courts as such because the accused has no right to defend against it before DCFS gets to take away your kids.

      • Yes it is. DCFS does whatever they want without any accountability and without care to how it affects the families they ruin. They are so busy breaking up good families that they don’t even go after the families that truly need intervention. How many child deaths have their been in our area alone, because DCFS didn’t do their job? They were too busy busting up families that had nothing going on to pay attention to the kids that needed it. It’s sick and wrong. The entire organization needs to go through an overhaul.
        You can’t even question a DCFS worker because they’ll make your life a living hell if you do. If you don’t jump through some of the ridiculous hoops they make you jump through, they’ll screw your and your children’s lives over. I’ve seen it happen to more than a handful of people, while others that need it just keep treating their kids like crap. So sick of watch innocent peoples lives get ruined while the horrible ones get away scott free and their kids grow up in horrible conditions.

      • It is. A young man that worked for me almost had his life and his career ruined because he disciplined his child for cursing at him. Nothing more than a slap that unfortunately left a red mark that was seen by “concerned” agents of the state who then called the LASD.

        It took months and countless thousands of dollars in attorney’s fees for him to finally prevail. In the meantime, DCFS took all of their other children out of the home and put them in separate foster homes, not together. The conditions they were placed in were far worse and it took weeks for the family to even get “supervised” visitation with their children. This, even before the family had their day in “court”…they were considered by DCFS as some of the worst offenders. An absolutely egregious miscarriage of “justice” and unilateral actions by unaccountable agents in that office. Absolutely despicable behavior.

    • I agree. Stinger but they also do not have the qualifications. Needed to do there jobs correctly. The social workers I have come in contact with, prejudged parents, and usually mix up all the facts and when they f#$k up they cover it up with the help of their fellow supervisor s. It’s a mess. ..I always tell people that have dcfs on their ass just do what they want, because if you piss your worker off you kids are gone a minimum. Of 6 months….sad but true. I’m very happy they are having this seminar.
