PALMDALE – A 45-year-old Palmdale man was thrown off his motorcycle, hit by an SUV and killed Monday night, authorities said.

The fatal collision happened around 7:49 p.m. on 10th Street West, between Avenue O and O-4, in Palmdale, according to Detective Brent Bunch of the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station.

The Palmdale man, whose name has not yet been released, was riding a 1982 Harley Davidson southbound on 10th Street West, when he apparently made a U-turn in front of a 2004 Chrysler Sebring, Bunch stated.

No other injuries were reported in connection with the collision, Bunch stated.

The 2004 Chrysler Sebring was driven by 31-year-old Aileen Campos of Lancaster, while the 2006 Chevy Suburban was driven by 52-year-old Laura Petty of Lancaster.

Traffic was blocked off on 10th Street West, between Avenue O and Avenue O-4, until approximately 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, while the incident was being investigated.
