LANCASTER – A 28-year-old man and his girlfriend were arrested during a meth bust Wednesday afternoon, just footsteps away from Joshua Elementary School in Lancaster. Francisco Nunez and Veronica Garcia, 21, were jailed on narcotics-related charges, and the couple’s 1-year-old child was taken into protective custody, according to a press release from the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station. Read it below:

After a lengthy investigation, deputies with the LAN-CAP Team served a search warrant at a residence located on the 200 block of E. Avenue J-8.

Deputies found approximately ¼ pound of methamphetamine during the search and recovered approximately $500 in cash, a handgun, and seized the suspect’s vehicle.

Arrested at the home were Suspect Francisco Nunez and his girlfriend, Suspect Veronica Garcia.

They both have a 1-year-old child in common who was also at the home. The two suspects were arrested for possession of methamphetamine for sales, along with several other felony charges, including child endangerment.

The child was taken into protective custody. The residence was directly north of Joshua Elementary School.

Both suspects were booked at the Lancaster Station Jail and each held on $100,000 bail.

UPDATED 1/10/14: Veronica Garcia was released at 1:04 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10, according to LASD inmate records. No charges were filed against Garcia as of Friday, according to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office. Francisco Nunez on Friday was charged with transporting and selling methamphetamines, possession of a controlled substance for sale, being a felon in possession of a firearm and being a felon in possession of ammunition, according to the LADA’s office.

500$ hardly seems like drug money. Thats just pay the bills cash. Good job on taking out a pety dealer I guess.

If you truly are her friend, then encourage her to stay away from felons with no job, lots of money, and a history of drugs. That’s what a real friend is.

Then tell your friend, let this be a lesson to be a bit more careful in her choice of boyfriends. He is already a felon, what did she expect? She may be innocent of the charges, b t who knows what can happen in the future if she chooses to associate with low life losers.

Just because they did not file charges does not mean they wont later. And if they did not have enough to file charges on her does not mean she is innocent.
Ask her to tell you the truth as her family told me. Drugs were found in the bedroom she shares with her piece of s**t, Harpys gang member, drug dealing boyfriend. She will stay with him, continue to endanger her kids and it wont be her last time going to jail because of him. Besides we all know this was not her 1st time in jail anyway.
      GUILTY!

I was thinking about that too. They can decide to file later. If he fully confesses I doubt they would, but if hefights it, they very well might.

Maybe the baby would be better off in a home where the parents are educated and responsible and a little more mature?

Article says “After a lengthy investigation”….Sounds like it wasn’t just a spare of the moment thing, they had been watching the house…unless that girl is really dumb or slow how could she NOT know what was going on…Come on!!!

Whatever…..Hope ALL involved get long jail time…if it’s all true the child is better off away from scum drug dealing parents like those two…

    Great job LAN-CAP Team..

For your information veronica garcia is innocent!! That’s why she’s getting released today!!!!! May this be a lessened learned for everyone not just her but everyone shouldn’t be quick to judge theirs always a truth behind every thing!

        January 10, 2014 at 2:57 pm

Know why she is getting released? because Francisco Nunez MANNED UP and told the cops it was all him and she had nothing to do with it. That’s what a MAN does. Good for him. She “might” be a user.. but big deal.. we all know that in a girlfriend/boyfriend situation like this the man is the one in charge and calling the shots. I’m glad she is out.

Spare me the real man garbage. He’s a fool that is wasting his life and hurting those around him. He’s not the hero you seem to think he is. If she’s using, that is a pretty big deal and she needs to quit before she loses her child and ruins her life. Real man… what a cliche.

Veronica garcia is innocent, the drugs weren’t found in the home our near the cold. They were found in the vehicle. Her child is with family and not in the system

The story doesnt say anything about guilt. It simply states they are both suspects and what crimes they are being held on suspicion for….looks like a prettty clear and fair story.

Hopefully she is not guilty of the drug association, about the child being there, sorry but she is guilty of that one… mom’s are supposed to protect their little one’s.

        January 9, 2014 at 3:56 pm

First of all let start off by saying veronica Garcia is a responsible mother she works to support her child as for her involvement in this situation is a false judgment of the Lancaster police department. She was not aware of the activity her boyfriend was doing. And its a shame how the investigators are quick to bring another person down she had no involvement with what she is being a suspect of. She works and also attended school. All this is going to do is get her behind. And ruin her future I am,a very close person to the family. And her daughter is safe she’s not in the system. Let me make my self clear veronica was not aware of what was going on at her boyfriends house. This was news to everyone. I will pray for you baby girl hope they let you out soon

Any of you actually think the mother had no knowledge of what this guy was doing and never saw all that paraphernalia? Serlously?

            January 9, 2014 at 4:58 pm

I know for a fact she didn’t. And BTW the press failed to say they found the drugs in the vehicle that’s why it was seized. She has a full time job, attends college. What makes this whole situation sad is that the press says what they know will be worth to write with out caring who’s life they are affecting.

          • i believe shes innocent says

            January 9, 2014 at 5:04 pm

Veronica is innocent, I live next door and I never seen any people coming in and out she is very loving with her daughter super protective and hard worker. Its a shame that she got caught up in this situation. I was out side when this took place she was arriving from work and the cops were already at the house..i didn’t think that they took her as well until I read the news. Free veronica

She’d be better off testifying against him before he lays it on her. I guess a jury may have to decide what she knew, but it does strain credulity to say she knew nothing and all of this is just a crazy surprise.

            January 9, 2014 at 8:13 pm

This is messed up this was all caused by a person that wanted to get off the hook and gave this person up the sad part about this whole frame is that family came down with. The drugs were found in the vehicle not the house and the cops knew exactly were to look thanks to their intel person. I know the mother and daughter were never around. Hopefully they don’t charge her with these felonies.

          • Guilty says

            January 9, 2014 at 11:54 pm

I to know the family well. The article did not say the drugs were found in the vehicle because that is not true. The drugs were found in the vehicle and inside the house. Veronica knew exactly what was going on. Her family is just trying to protect her but she was helping Jr. Guilty!

          January 9, 2014 at 5:02 pm

GIVE ME A FREAKEN BREAK, she knew what was exactly what was going on!!! As a mother of a meth addict, the behavior and traffic sales brings you’d have to be dumb and blind not to know what was going on.

            January 9, 2014 at 5:11 pm

Listen you can go ahead and believe what you want I know she was not aware. And the truth will come out she will be free..this is what the press wanted was to write an article and they wrote it as they pleased with out caring to write the truth. Any who if they found the drugs in the car which means their was no trafficking going on in that house point blank.
