Family feud escalates to shooting

LANCASTER – A 54-year-old man accused of shooting his nephew in the face Thursday afternoon has been jailed for attempted murder.

Mark Peters was arrested around 2:30 p.m. at his east Lancaster home and jailed in lieu of $1 million bail, according to a press release from the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station. Read it below:

Lancaster deputies received a call from a gunshot victim at a residence located on the 43000 block of 6th St East. The victim reported being shot by his uncle who was armed with a shotgun.

Deputies arrived on scene and safely located the victim and the suspect.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to the face.

The injury is believed to be not life-threatening and [the victim’s] identity is being withheld until additional family members are notified.

Suspect Mark Peters, who lived at the location, was arrested at the scene. Suspect Peters was booked at the Lancaster Station Jail for attempted murder and is being held on $1,000,000 bail.

    The nephew had been making terrorist threats with bodily harm for years. Mark was afraid for his lif when the nephew was cashing him dow.

      Shawna you and your whole family are sick, disgusting and an absolute embarrassment to man kind. Shame on you for your part in the continual harassment that you inflict on your nephew. You let your son and daughter abuse him as a young child, and now, well all I can say to people like you and your family is God help you, and do the rest of the world a favor and quit producing spawn of your kind, this world is full of enough hate & sickness!

        Shame on you is right, and for the actions of your family. You may be able to manipulate things here & now, but God see’s all. There is know justice here anymore, as there will be on day, our judgement day. I will pray for you all.
