Palmdale man killed in early morning crash

by K. Enrique • May 3, 2013

FatalLANCASTER – A 21-year-old Palmdale man was killed this morning when his vehicle collided with a pickup truck in a Lancaster intersection, authorities said.

The fatal collision occurred around 5 a.m. at the intersection of 30th Street West and Avenue F in Lancaster, according to Lt. Paul Pfrehm, of the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station.

A 2010 Ford Taurus was traveling northbound on 30th Street West, when its driver apparently stopped for the posted stop sign and then turned left, directly into the path of a 2006 Dodge Dakota pickup truck that was traveling eastbound on Avenue F, Pfrehm stated.

The pickup truck’s driver was not injured in the collision.

The 21-year-old driver of the Ford Taurus was transported to Antelope Valley Hospital Medical Center, where he died of his injuries. The Palmdale resident’s name has not been released pending notification of next of kin. Two passengers in the Ford Taurus were also transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

The investigation into this fatal collision is continuing, and alcohol is not believed to be a factor, Pfrehm stated.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station Traffic Enforcement Team at 661-948-8466.

UPDATED 5/6/13: The deceased has been identified as 21-year-old Neill Boston of Palmdale, according to deputy Dwayne Williams of the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station. The names of the two female passengers riding in Williams’ vehicle were not released.
