Teen motorcyclist collides with AVTA Bus

by The AV Times Staff • November 13, 2012

LANCASTER –   An 18-year-old motorcycle rider sustained serious injury Tuesday (Nov. 13) after hitting the rear left side of a stationary Antelope Valley Transit Authority bus, AVTA officials said.

The collision happened around 1:30 p.m. on Rancho Vista Boulevard, near 15th Street West in Palmdale.

The AVTA bus was pulled over to the curb and passengers were disembarking when the collision occurred. Twelve passengers were on board the bus, but none sustained injury, AVTA officials said.

Sheriff’s deputies report the motorcycle rider, whose name was not released, sustained serious injury to his leg. He was taken by ambulance to Antelope Valley Hospital for treatment

“Our prayers go out to the family of this young man who was seriously injured today,” said AVTA Executive Director Julie Austin in a statement. “We are very sad that such a traumatic incident has befallen this young person and we hope for a quick recovery.”

The collision remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Department.

That question is best answered by the one hospitalized.

First lumping all motorcyclists into one mold is wrong! Not every rider has no respect for the road or others. Furthermore I was under the understanding that attacking any one type of person on this site was not permitted. Some drivers (of cars) have no respect either!! I can no count how man times I have been cut off or beliggerantly yelled at by drivers with no concern for anyone but themselves and how quickly they et to their destination.

Only a person with an IQ on the low end of the scale would make an uninformed, ignorant statement like that. You no doubt refer to motorcycles as ‘murdercycles’, and think all riders are hell’s angels; TSK, TSK.

I could say the same thing about people who use the handle “Valerie” with equal validity.
