At the Shuttle Landing Facility at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, space shuttle Endeavour is mounted atop NASA’s Shuttle Carrier Aircraft, or SCA, in preparation for its ferry flight to California.

Endeavour begins ferry flight to LA

Space shuttle Endeavour and the Shuttle Carrier Aircraft took off Wednesday morning, Sept. 19, from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida to begin the first leg of a mission to deliver the retired shuttle to Los Angeles where it will go on display.

    Awesome sight; sorry to see our program end, but happy to have one Shuttle stationed closer to home field. The end of an era. :(
