Lancaster motorcyclist killed after collision with hearse

by K. Enrique • August 18, 2012

ANTELOPE VALLEY – A 57-year-old Lancaster man was killed Friday afternoon after his Harley-Davidson motorcycle drifted into the wrong lane and collided with a hearse.

The collision happened around 12:24 p.m., Friday (Aug. 17) on Angeles Crest Highway (SR-2), according to a California Highway Patrol Report.

David Duane Manos Jr. was traveling eastbound on Angeles Crest Highway, at an unknown rate of speed, when his motorcycle drifted to the left, crossed the centerline of the road, and ended up in the westbound lane – directly in the path of a 1964 Cadillac hearse, the report states.

The two vehicles collided, and Manos was thrown from his bike onto the roadway, resulting in fatal injuries.

The driver of the hearse, 77-year-old Tehachapi resident John Joseph Koresko, was not injured in the crash, according to the CHP report.

Does anyone know how to get in touch with one of his best friends, Bob? Last I knew Bob lives at Lake Havasu.

I knew David Manos since he was a little boy and spent a lot of time with his family. David also worked for me for a while and he was a very level headed person. Let’s not pass judgement without knowing all of the facts.
Maybe this was caused by a medical event of some sort.

Again another comment without knowing the facts. I knew Dave and knew him not to be so irresponsible to drink and drive on his motorcycle. And especially at 12:24 pm which is noonish. So you can bite me with your Darwin in action comment. Let’s hear the report first. You jack ass.
