PALMDALE – A 38-year-old man driving a stolen car, while under the influence of drugs, crashed into a house while trying to evade deputies, authorities said.

Brian Stubbings  was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer, felony evading, vehicle theft, driving under the influence of a narcotic, and kidnapping, according to Palmdale Station Watch Commander Lt. Ken Wright.

“There were passengers in his vehicle that he wouldn’t let out,” Wright said.

The incident happened around 11 a.m., Sunday, when deputies attempted to stop Stubbings, who was driving a gray Nissan Frontier pickup truck on Yucca Tree Street in west Palmdale.

“Deputies initially saw that he was driving recklessly and believed that he might be driving under the influence,” Wright said.

Stubbings ignored deputies’ commands to stop, officials said.

“He saw the deputies and took off,” said Palmdale Station Watch Sergeant Tucker. “He crashed into a house and then ran off.”

Deputies contained the area for about 45 minutes until Stubbings was captured. Photo by LUIS MEZA.

Stubbings slammed the truck into the garage of a home in the 1100 Block of Dianron Road.

Authorities immediately contained the area to catch the fleeing driver. Stubbings was flushed out after about 45 minutes with the help of a Sheriff’s Department helicopter. He was taken to the hospital for evaluation and then arrested.

A female passenger in the vehicle was briefly detained at the scene and then released. A male passenger was transported to Palmdale Regional with moderate injuries sustained from the crash.

There were no other injuries reported in the incident.

Hooray! White guy makes the news for committing a sensational crime. I officially, as the whiteman spokesperson, open up the floor to ‘Cracker’ and ‘white trash’ comments.

I bet he stole the truck so he could move his house.

What an idiot. Why is it that some people refuse to grow up? I wonder if this guy has always been a loser or if “this was the first time”.
