Two teens arrested for multiple burglaries at Lancaster apartment complex

by The AV Times Staff • June 8, 2012

LANCASTER – A 17-year-old and a 19-year-old were arrested early Thursday morning after admitting to multiple burglaries at the Sunset Ridge Apartments and at several other locations, authorities said.

Travon Davis was arrested around 3:30 a.m. and booked at the Lancaster Station on $50,000 bail. The 17-year-old, whose name is being withheld because of his age, was arrested and then released to his parents.

The following is the press report from the Lancaster Station:

Since mid-May, 2012, members of the Lancaster Station Burglary Suppression Team noticed that burglaries occurring in the area of 17th Street West and Avenue K-7, at the Sunset Ridge Apartment complex had increased significantly, and they noticed a pattern with the method in which they were occurring.

Based on this increase and pattern, members of the Burglary Suppression Team, assisted by both the Lancaster Station TOP & CORE Teams, set up a surveillance operation during the early morning hours of Thursday morning at the Sunset Ridge Apartments.

At approximately 2:30 a.m., team members saw two individuals lurking around the apartment complex, looking into multiple apartments at the complex.

The two individuals were subsequently contacted and detained. During the investigation, the individuals, identified as a 17-year-old (name withheld due to his age) and 19-year-old Travon Davis, both of Lancaster, were arrested for suspicion of burglary, based on conflicting stories given by both as to why they were at the location, and physical evidence recovered from them when contacted.

Lancaster Station Burglary Suppression deputies obtained search warrants for the homes of both suspects and, assisted by the TOP/CORE Teams, served the warrants early Thursday morning.

Stolen property taken in four individual residential burglaries, consisting mainly of electronics items, were recovered.

Both suspects when further questioned, admitted to committing multiple burglaries at the Sunset Ridge Apartments and at several other locations.

From information obtained during the interviews, additional stolen property was recovered from another location that was taken during a residential burglary.

Davis is being held on $50,000 bail at the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station. The juvenile was released to his parents. Burglary Suppression Team Deputies will continue to conduct these types of operations regarding problem areas.

Do you stereotype all the people named Jeffrey as eating and raping young boys? What about people named Ted? Do they kidnap, kill and then screw the bodies of women?? You are just too ignorant for words…

Great work LASD. It’s a shame the 17yr old couldn’t at least be held until you could finish the paper work on him? Since there is no way we can turn the clock back to a simpler time, juvenile laws need to be updated to keep pace with what kids are doing these days.

Why would you ask such a stupid question? Are you in some way trying to defend these kids for being out robbing homes when they were caught or the fact they had stolen goods at their homes?
Let it go…give it a rest.
