PALMDALE – A 17-year-old boy was shot to death Monday night in connection with a feud between neighbors, authorities said.
The shooting happened around 9 p.m. in the 38100 block of Boxthorn Street in east Palmdale, according to Sheriff’s Homicide Detective Holly Francisco.
“Deputies responded to the location regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call,” Francisco said. “When they got here they found the victim, a male Hispanic juvenile, on the ground and had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.”
Francisco said numerous people were detained and interviewed.
The 17-year-old, Christopher Flores, was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation is ongoing.

UPDATE: SUSPECT IN CUSTODY
Sheriff’s Homicide detectives have arrested a suspect in connection with the shooting death of the 17-year-old youth.
Victor Manuel Flores, 36, was booked for murder at Palmdale Station and is being held in lieu of $1,000,000 bail. The suspect’s booking photo will not be released at this time.
UPDATED 9/26/12: Editor’s Note – We talked to several witnesses and neighbors about the circumstances that led up to this shooting. Because the stories differ so drastically, we have decided to refrain from publishing any version of the events.
