LANCASTER – The motorcyclist who died Sunday afternoon when a female driver turned in front of him in a Lancaster intersection has been publicly identified.

He was Johnny Carr, 50, of Lancaster, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

The fatal collision happened around 4:15 p.m. Sunday, May 1, at Avenue J-8 and Division Street, according to a news release from the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station.

“Preliminary investigation indicates a female adult in a Nissan Sentra was traveling southbound on Division Street and made a left turn at the intersection of Avenue J-8 into the path of a male adult (Carr) riding a Harley Davidson Motorcycle northbound on Division Street,” the news release states.

“The male adult (Carr) riding the Harley Davidson Motorcycle was ejected from the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene by responding paramedics,” the news release states.

The collision remains under investigation, and it is not yet known whether speed or drugs and/or alcohol were factors in the crash,” sheriff’s officials said. Anyone with information on this fatal collision is encouraged to contact traffic investigators at the Lancaster Sheriff Station at 661-948-8466.
