by Content Partner • April 6, 2022

You must already be aware that there is a variety of sunglasses available in the market that you can choose from. However, the availability of options often becomes the reason for complicating the task of choosing the right pair of sunglasses for us. There are various factors that you can consider, like your face shape, budget, and when you will wear your sunglasses, while buying a pair of sunglasses.

You must have studied as a kid that the Ultraviolet rays from the sun are potentially harmful to us. UV rays can damage not only our skin but our eyes well. For this reason, it becomes important that you keep your eyes protected when you step out in the sun. Wearing sunglasses can be beneficial for the wearer in a variety of ways. You can see more easily under the bright sunlight if you are wearing sunglasses. Moreover, a trendy pair of sunglasses can instantly enhance your looks, and you can be sure that you look awesome every time you step out in the summer. You must have seen how cool oval sunglasses look.

Varieties in Sunglasses

The varieties available in sunglasses are wide. Whether you are looking for something prescribed by your physician or you simply want protective wear, you can find a perfect pair for your needs. It is important to gather some necessary information related to the product before you are finally out to purchase it. Therefore, we have brought this list of different types of sunglasses available in the market that you can always choose from. You can keep this list in your mind and begin the successful search for your pair of sunglasses.

Most of the varieties of sunglasses are made to suit both genders. However, there are other factors like the lenses,  frame size, shapes, and colors that can help you determine which pair of sunglasses is best for you.

Different Sunglasses by lenses

One of the major factors to consider about your sunglasses is the lens. Lenses are the primary part of the sunglasses that offer protection against various factors. It is important to note that the lens you choose in your sunglasses is best suitable for the activities you perform and style must not be sacrificed as well.

Here we are classifying the sunglasses on the basis of the different types of lenses:

●      Lenses with UV protection

Not all sunglasses can offer you protection against hazardous UV rays. You must ensure that the lenses in your sunglasses are designed to offer protection against harmful UV rays from the sun. You can find lenses with different capacities to block the UV rays. Choose something that offers you sufficient protection.

●      Lens made with plastic

If you are looking for an inexpensive option, you can easily find sunglasses with plastic lenses. However, plastic lenses alone are not protective enough, and they need an additional coating to resist UV rays. However, you can find them in varieties.

●      Photochromic lenses

These magical lenses automatically create a darker vision as you step out in the sun; however, you can see things clearly when you are indoors. Are you looking for dual-purpose glasses that can serve as normal glass indoors but works efficiently under the sun as well? Photochromic lenses are the choice you can make.

●      Lens made with glass

Glass is the conventionally used material for making sunglasses. While plastic has already taken the place of glass, glass is not out of the trend yet. Plastic is more prone to scratches, unlike glasses. Moreover, the clarity of vision offered by glass lenses is incomparable. However, you might have to take some risks if you choose the lens made with glass. Glass is heavier than plastic and offers less protection against UV rays. Moreover, glass is more likely to break and shatter.

●      Colorful lenses

Colorful lenses are obviously cool and stylish. But aesthetics is not the only thing offered by colorful lenses. Different colors in the lenses of your sunglasses serve different purposes. Some colors are likely to offer better clarity in the vision without major distortion. Whereas other colors keep your eyes cooler than others.

While these are the most common varieties of lenses available in sunglasses, you can find other options as well. As a wearer, you must ensure that you are completely aware of the options available to you so that you can choose the best one for yourself.
