LANCASTER – The squad club of the Antelope Valley California Highway Patrol office is gearing up for the fourth annual ‘Run with the Law’ charity fundraiser.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 11 at the Palmdale Fin and Feather Club, located at 600 East Avenue S in Palmdale.

The run takes place on the scenic off-road course surrounding Lake Palmdale and will feature a 10K race starting at 10 a.m. and a 5K race starting at 11 a.m.; race line up will begin 15 minutes before the start of each race.

Registration for either race is $30 per participant, and proceeds will benefit the Royal Family Kids camp and the CHP Senior Volunteer Program. To register online, click here.

Participants can also register on site from 7 to 9:30 a.m. on the day of the event.

The event includes a post-race barbecue lunch and post-race festivities.

Residents who can’t make the run but would still like to help are encouraged to make an online donation, organizers said.

“This event is targeted to the entire community; come and support this cause,” said California Highway Patrol Officer Gil Hernandez. “We just want to close that gap between law enforcement and the community and be able to give back from a different perspective.”
