LANCASTER – More than 250 families last year had a memorable holiday, thanks to caring individuals, families, and organizations throughout our community. The Children’s Center of the Antelope Valley (CCAV) invites the community to participate again this year in its Love & Wishes program.

The program aims to make the holiday season a happier one by providing gifts of clothing and toys for the families served by the Children’s Center of the Antelope Valley.

According to Board members and program co-chairs, Linda Petrik and Shelley Sorsabal, “this family-to-family outreach helps us make Christmas wishes come true for our neediest client families.”

Individuals, families, churches and community or office groups can all participate as sponsors in the Love & Wishes program.  Gifts can be wrapped (and tagged) or not, or contributions can be made in the form of gift cards, cash or checks.

Contributors may specify the size of the family they’d like to sponsor. Participants will be given information about the families and their specific needs.

CCAV is required to maintain confidentiality for their families and their children, so they will not provide specific names to donors.  In order for families to receive their gifts in time for the holidays, the Children’s Center asks that gifts be delivered well in advance of Friday, December 13.

Deliveries are accepted at the Children’s Center, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at 45111 N. Fern Avenue, on the corner of Jackman Street in Lancaster.

Those wanting to participate in the Love & Wishes program should call the Children’s Center at 661-949-1206 for details.
