
PALMDALE – The Palmdale Playhouse has announced its schedule of events and shows for the upcoming holiday season.
Kicking things off will be the Palmdale Playhouse Annual Holiday Open House, which will be held:
- From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesdays, Nov. 28, Dec. 5, Dec. 12 and Dec. 19; and
- From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec 17, 18 & 19
The Playhouse lobby will be filled with holiday decorations, and Santa Claus will be on hand to take holiday wishes from young and old alike.
“We’re inviting parents and children to ring in the Christmas season at our Open House by enjoying complimentary hot chocolate, having a guided theatre tour by one of Santa’s Elves and, of course, visiting with Santa Claus,” said Theatre Operations Coordinator Debbie Barrientes. “The Holiday Open House is free of charge, and photos with Santa are available for only $5.”
Dance will be taking the stage on Friday, Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 1 at 2 p.m.

Toymaker Herr Drosselmeyer will tell the enchanting and magical tale of Clara and her Nutcracker in The Nutcracker Story Ballet. The Palmdale Junior Ballet presents an abridged version that will feature the Sugar Plum Fairy, the Nutcracker Prince and many Nutcracker classics. The Palmdale Jazz and Tap Ensembles celebrate the Sounds of Christmas with some of your favorite holiday tunes. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, students, military and youth 12 and under.
Bring your family and start a new holiday tradition with Santa And A Movie on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 7 & 8, at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m.
“This is a perfect time to see Santa and enjoy the classical holiday movie “A Christmas Story,” said Barrientes.
Visit with Santa and take home a keepsake photo with frame to remember this special occasion. Movie tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for youth 12 and under. Photos with Santa are $5. Purchase movie tickets early, seating is limited.
Wrapping up the holiday productions are two exciting concerts by the Palmdale Concert and Symphonic Orchestras on Friday, Dec. 14 and Saturday, Dec. 15 at 7:30 p.m.
Featured presentations are Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s last music composed for orchestra, The Magic Flute Overture, and the rousing Overture to Candide by Leonard Bernstein, along with other timeless and beloved holiday music.
Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, students, military and youth 12 and under.
