by The AV Times Staff • February 7, 2012

PALMDALE – The Palmdale Playhouse will present the travelogue “Around The World… One Man’s Journey” on Sunday, Feb. 12 at 2 p.m. at the Playhouse, located at 38334 10th Street East, in Palmdale. Tickets are $5.

“This film is a retrospective of a lifetime of travel by one of America’s best-known travel filmmakers, Doug Jones,” said Theatre Operations Coordinator Debbie Barrientes.

Highlights of the film include the Taj Mahal, Kamakura Buddha, the Pyramids, the treasures of Tutankhamen, the Eiffel Tower, Big Ben, the Berlin Wall, Iguazu Falls, Machu Picchu, Carnival in Rio, the Great Wall of China and the glaciers of Alaska.

Destinations as diverse as Hollywood to Hong Kong, Moscow to Brunei, and Tokyo to the Amazon are featured in this very personal film. Jones uses the film to show how the world has changed and exposes the viewer to an amazing assortment of different cultures and nations of the earth.

Upcoming travelogues at the Palmdale Playhouse include “Bhutan, The Cloud Kingdom” on March 18, “Wings Across the Catalina Channel” on April 1, and “Budapest to Istanbul & A Cruise on the Danube” on May 13.
