Phony “Wal-Mart employee” makes off with four TVs

PALMDALE – Do you recognize the man in this surveillance photo?

If so, Palmdale Station detectives would like to hear from you. Detectives say on New Year’s Eve, the man dressed as a Wal-Mart employee and stole four televisions from the Palmdale Wal-Mart in plain sight.

The following is the press report from the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station:

Palmdale Station detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying a burglary suspect who disguised himself and walked out of a store with four televisions.

On New Year’s Eve at approximately 7 p.m., the suspect dressed himself as a Wal-Mart employee, complete with a store nametag, and entered the Wal-Mart located at 40130 10th Street West, in the City of Palmdale.

Once inside, he grabbed four 32” flat screen televisions and walked out the front door as if loading them for a customer.

The suspect is described as a 40 to 50 year old black male. He is bald and is approximately 6 [feet] and weighs around 250 lbs.

Using video surveillance, authorities have been able to identify that the suspect loaded the televisions in a black truck.

Palmdale detectives are asking if anyone recognizes the suspect to please contact Sergeant Moore at 661-272-2425.
