PALMDALE – Area Kiwanis clubs are joining together to race rubber duckies again this year. Details of the 6th Annual Million Dollar Rubber Duck Race were announced at a press conference Thursday.
The “Ducky Race” will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 17th at DryTown Water Park in Palmdale.
Ducks can be adopted online at www.duckrace.com/antelopevalley.
For every 3,333 ducks in the race there will be a duck that is tagged with the million dollar number. If any one of those numbered ducks enters the finish line first, the adopter of that duck wins $1 Million. Last year four numbered ducks in the race qualified for the million dollars.
In addition to the million dollar jackpot, several other prizes will be awarded, including $1,000 in cash, an Apple IPad with wifi, a Dell Inspiron Laptop, and Lancaster Performing Arts Tickets.
There will be a main Ducky Race and a “business” race where local business owners can buy a large duck and “duckorate” it with their name, logo, and website address.
Proceeds benefit the Antelope Valley College Foundation, South Antelope Valley Emergency Services (SAVES), Assistance League of the Antelope Valley, South Antelope Valley Education Foundation, and many other local charities.
