City of Palmdale to host Neighborhood Watch Orientation

by The AV Times Staff • September 1, 2011

PALMDALE –Property owners and residents are invited to the City Council Chamber Tuesday to learn about the City’s Neighborhood Watch Program and how to form and maintain a group in their neighborhood.

“Neighborhood Watch is the most effective means available for keeping crime out of our neighborhoods,” said Community Safety Supervisor Kelly Long. “Neighborhood Watch is also very effective in preparing yourself and your neighborhood for any type of emergency situation that may arise.”

The Neighborhood Watch Orientation presentation for property owners and residents will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 6th in the Palmdale City Council Chamber, 38300 Sierra Highway, suite B.

Crime Prevention Officers from the City and Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Departments Palmdale Station will deliver a presentation, answer questions and discuss how Neighborhood Watch works and how it can help residents and their neighborhoods.

For more information about the meeting or to learn more about Neighborhood Watch, contact Palmdale’s public safety and community relations department at 661-267-5170.
