Does this safe look familiar? If so, Palmdale detectives would like to hear from you.

PALMDALE – Palmdale deputies found a beat-up safe in a rural area last week, and now they are trying to return the safe to its rightful owner.

The following is the press report from the Palmdale Station:

On June 13, 2012, deputies from Palmdale Station were called to the location regarding a found safe. The deputies located the safe on a sidewalk near the intersection of 45th Street West and Avenue N-8 in Palmdale.

The combination dial on the safe had been removed.

The location is somewhat isolated and rural.

Detectives believe it was possibly taken in some sort of crime.

There were miscellaneous pieces of paper in the safe, however, nothing that would enable [detectives] to find the owner.

Palmdale Station is asking for the public’s help.  Anyone who may have been a victim of a theft and had this type safe taken is requested to contact Lieutenant Kennedy at the Palmdale Sheriff Station at 661-272-2506.
