Woman killed in two-vehicle crash at Lancaster intersection

LANCASTER – A female passenger was killed Sunday morning in a two-vehicle crash at a Lancaster intersection, authorities said.

It happened around 6:25 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 8, near the intersection of 10th Street West and Avenue L, according to a news release from the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station.

“Preliminary investigation indicates a male adult in a jeep was traveling eastbound on Avenue L and crashed with a female adult in a Chevrolet sedan who was traveling south on 10th Street West. A female adult who was the passenger in the Chevrolet sedan was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding Fire Department and Paramedics,” the news release states. Her name has not yet been released pending next of kin notification, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

The cause of the crash is still being investigated, but “alcohol or drugs do not appear to be factor,” the sheriff’s news release states.

    Was the driver distracted?aybe on cell? Maybe sunrise was blinding at time in a.m. and direction,driver ran a red and took a life.what a shame

      The accident was ~6:25am. Twilight was 6:27 am & actual sunrise was 6:51
      Neither driver was blinded by sunrise. Worth checking though
