LANCASTER – The Antelope Valley Fair’s Livestock Council will host its 14th annual Barn Bash Barbecue and Auction on June 24, at the AV Fair & Event Center’s H.W. Hunter Pavilion, located at 2551 West Avenue H in Lancaster.

This year’s event is being held in honor of the late Dr. Jim Nyholt and Ms. Betty Smith.

The Barn Bash is a social gathering event that includes a dinner, no host bar, interactive games, music, and live and silent auctions. The annual fundraiser provides local scholarships for qualified Antelope Valley Fair Junior Livestock exhibitors who are graduating and seeking financial aid for college. Funds are also used for improvements at the AV Fair & Event Center’s livestock barn.

This year’s event begins at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 24, with music and games, followed by a BBQ dinner and 6 p.m., and the silent and live auctions at 7 p.m.

Individual BBQ Dinner/Auction pre-sale tickets are $12 and can be purchased at the AV Fair & Event Center Exhibit Entry office (2551 W. Ave H), from 9 to 4:30 p.m. Tickets can also be purchased at the door, the night of the event, for $15.

For more information, contact Jennifer Gilardone at 661-992-1342.
