LANCASTER – Two men were shot to death Wednesday night in an apparent robbery at a Lancaster motel, authorities said.
The incident was reported around 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, on the 44100 block of Sierra Highway, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
“Deputies from the Lancaster Station responded to a ‘gunshot victim’ call for service… When deputies arrived, they located one victim inside a motel room, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene,” the news release states.
“Deputies located another victim in the parking lot area of the motel, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased,” the sheriff’s news release states.
“The investigators believe there were multiple suspects and the motive was robbery,” the sheriff’s news release states.
The incident happened at America’s Best Value Inn & Suites, where blood could be seen below the window of a second floor motel room. The victims’ identities have not yet been released pending next of kin notification, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.
“This investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time,” sheriff’s officials said in the news release.
