Bicyclist killed in collision near Gorman

GORMAN – A bicyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle late Wednesday night near Gorman, authorities said.

California Highway Patrol officers responded around 11:06 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, to the northbound Antelope Valley Freeway (14) and West Avenue C where they found the bicyclist, CHP Officer Patrick Kimball told City News Service.

Witnesses said officers found the victim lying on the right side of the freeway. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity has not yet been released pending next of kin notification.

CHP officers closed all lanes of the freeway for several hours while they investigated the crash. The incident remains under investigation and no further information on the crash was immediately available.
