Lancaster shooting leaves one dead

LANCASTER – A man was shot to death in Lancaster Friday night, and detectives are continuing their investigation into his death.

Deputies from the Lancaster Station of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call at approximately 7:05 p.m. Friday, March 24, on the 800 block of W. Avenue I and Fern Avenue where they found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds to the torso, according to Lt. Patricia Thomas of the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau.

The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Anyone with information about this shooting was asked to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500. Anonymous calls can be made to Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or sent to lacrimestoppers.org.

No further information on the incident was immediately available.
