Authorities ID homeless man and woman found in vehicle, no foul play suspected

by The AV Times Staff • January 17, 2023

PALMDALE – Authorities have identified the man and woman who were found dead Sunday inside a vehicle in the parking lot of a Palmdale supermarket.

They were 56-year-old Juan Ramon Ramos Toscano and 48-year-old Brigette Valtierra and both were homeless, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, which listed their place of death as “vehicle.”

Their bodies were discovered around 3:15 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, in the Vallarta Supermarket parking lot on the 400 block of East Palmdale Boulevard, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Michael Pittman.

The original call for help was for an unconscious person, Pittman said.

The deaths were believed to be due to accidental drug overdoses, Deputy Tracy Koerner of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau told City News Service.

No foul play was suspected, officials said.

No further information on the incident was released.

She helped raise me and I helped raise her daughter. She was the most generous person I knew. When she had her house and her job she gave to everyone she knew even those without homes. So many people are hurt by her dead because she put others in front of her even when she needed help. She had an unimaginable amount of horrible things happening to her, things that I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy, things I won’t say because of respect. Even when she was down to 1 cent she would give what she could. Although it is incredibly sad to lose her like this her good deeds should never be disregarded. I bet she did more for the community than you ever could in a million live times. She didn’t rely on tax payer money, I know that for sure. Friends across the world are hurt by this lose. I miss her so much. She was the most generous and loving person I knew. I miss you so much auntie. Know what I and so many loved you. I wish I could have seen you once more. And never ever INSULT my aunt like that. Pathetic that a child like me knows more about respect than you.

In the first place, homeless people don’t have money to buy drugs. They were most likely murdered by a drug cartel because they knew the wrong people. The cartels have been escaping homicide charges by setting up accidental deaths. There are different cartels in the valley who are responsible for drug trafficking.

She was quite thin and definitely didn’t have big legs. I know you said “no offense” but that is still quite rude.

What a waste of tax payer money. And don’t get all high and mighty on my comment, apologists for this behavior are worse than bums. Go house the homeless yourselves.

2 people found dead in a car is a waste of taxpayers money? This is literally what emergency services are for. Get off your little pedestal and come live in reality.

She preferred to live in her car, actually. You don’t know her so don’t act like you do. She could have had lived in a house but didn’t want to because she liked to feel free. You should act all high and mighty. Don’t forget you are not the only tax payed.
