AV mental health awareness walk set for Saturday at Poncitlán Square

PALMDALE – Local residents are invited to the AV Mental Health Awareness Day and walk, happening from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Saturday, Oct. 1, at Poncitlán Square, located 38315 9th Street East in Palmdale.

Hosted by the Erick A Garcia “You Are Enough” Foundation, the city of Palmdale, and other community partners, the event aims to raise awareness and provide information about mental health, suicide prevention, and local community resources.

On-site registration starts at 7:30 a.m., and the walk begins at 8 a.m. Admission is free, with donations encouraged and a free T-shirt included with a minimum $35 donation. Participants are encouraged to register online, prior to the walk, at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/av-mental-health-awareness-day-registration-347528084857.

Following the walk, there will be free entertainment and community resources. Food trucks also will be available for food and beverage purchases. For more information about the Erick A Garcia “You Are Enough” Foundation, visit youareenoughfoundation.org.

    It’s outdoors in Palmdale. Worrying about respiratory transmission of viruses through the typical Palmdale breeze indicates that you wouldn’t need to BRING anyone. Get help Ace…it’s available.
