Motorists involved in double-fatal head-on crash in Palmdale ID’d

by The AV Times Staff • August 8, 2022

PALMDALE – Authorities Monday identified two men who were killed early Sunday morning when the trucks they were driving crashed head-on in Palmdale.

They were 24-year-old Christopher Pool and 45-year-old Ararat Nazarian, both from Palmdale, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

The double-fatal collision occurred around 3:35 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, on Rancho Vista Boulevard, just west of Cricket Lane, according to a news release from the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station.

According to the LASD news release, a 2003 Dodge Ram was traveling eastbound in the number one lane of Rancho Vista Boulevard when the vehicle veered into the number one westbound lane and collided head-on with a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado that was traveling westbound in the number one westbound lane of Rancho Vista Boulevard.

Both Pool and Nazarian were the sole occupants of their vehicles and were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the news release, which did not state which vehicles the motorists were driving. Traffic detectives could not immediately be reached for comment Monday to provide clarity.

Anyone with information regarding this traffic collision is encouraged to call the Palmdale Sheriff Station’s traffic department at 661-272-2400. The investigation is ongoing.
