Lancaster mayor hospitalized Sunday with COVID-19

by The AV Times Staff • July 18, 2022

LANCASTER – Lancaster Mayor R. Rex Parris was hospitalized with COVID-19 on Sunday, city officials announced Monday.

“On Sunday, July 17, Mayor R. Rex Parris was hospitalized with COVID-19. While he is in good spirits, he would like to remind our community to continue to be vigilant and stay safe. We ask that his privacy be respected at this time,” according to a news release by the city of Lancaster.

The news release did not specify if Parris was still in the hospital as of Monday, and calls to the city of Lancaster were not immediately returned, therefore, a status update on Parris’ condition was not immediately available. It was not clear when or how Parris contracted COVID-19.

Nearly 19,000 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed Monday, July 18, in Los Angeles County, along with 29 new virus-related fatalities. According to the county Department of Public Health, 7,503 cases were confirmed Saturday, 7,403 on Sunday and 3,943 on Monday, with weekend reporting lags contributing to Monday’s relatively low total. The 18,849 combined new cases lifted the county’s cumulative total from throughout the pandemic to 3,225,697.

The actual number of infections in the county, however, is likely to be much higher thanks to the prevalence of residents using take-home COVID tests, the results of which are not generally reported to the county and added to the official total. The 29 new deaths reported from the weekend gave the county an overall virus-related death toll of 32,537.

“If it were up to me, anybody not wearing a mask when they are out in public would be arrested,” Mayor Rex Paris Parris said. “That’s an act of domestic terrorism and should be treated like one.”

Rex is as morally bankrupt as most televangelists and speaks as much, if not more, nonsense.

I’m waiting for him to speak in tongues, wrap himself in snakes, cry on TV, and confess to cavorting with prostitutes, as all self-respecting televangelists do nowadays.

Sh!t, I can do that. Maybe I’ll become a televangelist. Would you guys send me money? If I fail miserably, I can always be mayor of Lancaster.

The truth is getting vaccinated does not protect you from getting covid 19 ever one out there don’t get the shot you will have problems with your organs or come down with heart problems or you will lose your life

Guess what dummy, no one has said it does “protect you from getting covid 19.” It does, demonstrably, provide better outcomes when you do get covid 19. As to your claims about problems, make with the evidence of shut TF up.

        Guess what Dummy,
Joe Biden – “You’re not going to get COVID if you have these vaccinations,”

CDC chief Rochelle Walensky said that “vaccinated people do not carry the virus, don’t get sick.”

Social media users demanded apologies from Rachel Maddow and MSNBC over the liberal host’s insistence in March that the COVID-19 vaccine stops the virus dead in its tracks and prevents further transmission.
“Now we know that the vaccines work well enough that the virus stops with every vaccinated person,” Maddow said on her show the evening of March 29, 2021.
“A vaccinated person gets exposed to the virus, the virus does not infect them, the virus cannot then use that person to go anywhere else,” she added “It cannot use a vaccinated person as a host to go get more people.”

This spoken by the Liberal Goddess that Dems bow to.

        LOL…”thousands upon thousands.”

From the CDC website: “Continued monitoring has identified NINE deaths causally associated with J&J/Janssen COVID-19 vaccination. CDC and FDA continue to review reports of death following COVID-19 vaccination and update information as it becomes available.” Of 15,000 preliminary reports (out of 600 million doses of vaccine), investigation of actual cause of death leads to NINE that are actually attributed to the vaccine.

Nine equals thousands and thousands. What a ninny.

I really hope Mr. Rex has a full and speedy recovery.
It is hard, however, not to immediately be stuck by the irony of this man contracting COVID after his support of vaccines, boosters, and masks.
Hopefully, this serves as a reminder that it can and may be caught by all, vaccinated or not. The vaccines and masks do not protect anyone from this.
Please, Mr. Mayor, do not begin imposing ridiculous mask or vaccine mandates after your recovery as we can all see, they did no good.
    God speed in your recovery!

The Covid Vaccine doesnt prevent someone from getting the virus. It just helps the body to learn how to fight the virus when they do get come in contact with it. In the best case, it lesses the severity while the virus runs its course.

Proper mask wearing does slow the spread due to less viral oganisms being airborne and getting into the body.

        July 21, 2022 at 2:15 pm

So its like last years flu vaccine except developed with something that effects your natural immune system.

Show me any reports that the virus is stopped by wearing a mask. Show one box of masks that states “This mask stops the transmission of Covid virus”.

If you are afraid, stay home. Your health is not my responsibility. If it is, I want to see all your medical records and start prescribing your life-style.

    • Tim Scott says

      July 19, 2022 at 2:35 pm

Covid is like the common cold…everyone is getting it eventually and repeatedly. The question is how bad it is going to be when you get it, and the answer to that question depends a whole lot on whether you are vaccinated.

      • Beecee says

        July 19, 2022 at 6:11 pm

I agree with this, the vaccination does not protect you from infection but it certainly lessons the symptoms and level of sickness one would normally get. Especially ones that are at risk or older age.

The main issue of the covid crisis has been the resulting shortages in health care. Those shortages have been consistently made worse by stupid people following crazy conspiracy theories and winding up sick and being loads on the hospitals.

You know the facts, but apparently figured “well, if I get sick, sicker than I know I needed to be, and push a hospital beyond its limits and someone else can’t get care and dies…tough for them.” As I said, appalling, but from you unsurprising.

I know another person that has played it as “no vax, if I get sick I get sick,” but he has honor and I am confident that if he gets sick through his own choices he’ll just die, if it comes to that.

And for the record, my significant other that was vaccinated was FAR more sicker then I was.
The vax mad him sick, and his arm felt like it was gonna fall off after the shot so…

            Get bent fool.

        July 19, 2022 at 6:34 pm

Your statement is 50% true. There is no data that tells us when the vaccinated or unvaccinated get it. My unvaccinated buddy got it just last week for the first time. My other friends who are vaccinated got it way earlier than he did.

        • Tim Scott says

          July 19, 2022 at 9:41 pm

There is data that compares the hospitalization rates and mortality rates for vaccinated and unvaccinated people, and it is pretty clear cut.

As I said, everyone gets it, the only question is how bad you want it to be when you do. Personally, I got it before there were any vaccines and it sucked.

I hope and pray he recovers to normal, good health.
Had a nasty variant a few weeks ago, which was radical. It lasted, basically, 3 weeks. Fought it off with plenty of fluid, fruits and veg. soup, and even some exercise.
Do what you’ve got to do to be healthy; weight down, strength training, healthy foods.
