Palmdale’s “Season of Service” continues Feb. 26; volunteers wanted

PALMDALE – The city of Palmdale is seeking volunteers for the upcoming 2022 Season of Service “Together for a Beautiful Palmdale” events scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 26. Registration is required and available at https://signup.com/go/ZqtQFAP.

“This month we’re going to do some cleaning at Domenic Massari Park, one of the most popular recreation sites in Palmdale, as well as tackling some desert dumping,” said Palmdale Mayor Steve Hofbauer. “Join family and friends and help make a positive difference in our city.”

The events include:

Graffiti Removal at Domenic Massari Park
37716 55th St. E.
9 a.m. to 12 noon

For ages 15 yrs. and older. Dress in layers and wear outdoor work clothes. Work boots or high-top tennis shoes are recommended. Work gloves, masks, and sunblock will be provided.

Safety Painting at Domenic Massari Park

9 a.m. to 12 noon

For all ages. Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Dress in layers and wear outdoor work clothes. Work boots or high-top tennis shoes are recommended. Work gloves, masks, and sunblock will be provided.

Gopher Hole Backfilling at Domenic Massari Park

9 a.m. to 12 noon

For all ages. Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Dress in layers and wear outdoor work clothes. Work boots or high-top tennis shoes are recommended. Work gloves, masks, and sunblock will be provided.

Desert Clean Up
Division St. and Avenue O, northwest corner.
8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

For ages 10 and up. Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Dress in layers and wear outdoor work clothes. Work boots or high-top tennis shoes are recommended. Work gloves, masks, and sunblock will be provided. Masks are recommended because of the possibility of dust and dirt particles in the air.

“We look forward to seeing you at these events and our upcoming projects,” said Community Programs Coordinator Patricia Morales. “From now through June, our theme is ‘Together for a Beautiful Palmdale,’ and we’ll be going into our parks, neighborhoods and desert spaces on the fourth Saturday of the month to help make Palmdale a beautiful place to call home.”
