LANCASTER – A man who suffered a medical emergency lost control of his vehicle Friday afternoon, and the vehicle crashed through a fence and got stuck on train tracks in Lancaster before the driver was rescued by Los Angeles County firefighters.
The crash happened around 3:18 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, near Avenue J and Sierra Highway, according to Lt. Clinton Skaggs of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
A message was sent to the Union Pacific freight train but the train couldn’t slow down in time, and it slammed into the man’s vehicle. Fortunately, the man wasn’t inside when the train hit his vehicle.
Paramedics took the man to a hospital for treatment of his unspecified medical condition. No further information on the incident was immediately available.
