Gov. Gavin Newsom visited a VA Medical Center in Los Angeles County Wednesday to again encourage people to get vaccinated against COVID-19 – – with first, second or booster doses — while warning that “winter is coming” and raising fears of another surge in infections.
The governor, who has faced questions about his disappearance from the public eye for about two weeks after receiving his COVID booster shot, also flatly rejected reports that he suffered an adverse reaction to the inoculation.
“That’s made up,” Newsom said. “I had absolutely no impact whatsoever from the COVID shot — the original or the booster. Absolutely none. No fatigue.”
Newsom said he experienced more soreness in his arm after getting a flu shot than he did from the COVID shot. He urged people to “pause and reflect” on “intentional misrepresentation and misinformation around the efficacy and safety of these vaccines.”
“These vaccines are life-saving,” he said. “These vaccines helped us put a lid on COVID this summer. I’m encouraging people to get their booster shots, and those that have not gotten immunity through a vaccine, we encourage you to consider that as we move through the winter.”
Newsom noted that COVID infection rates have proven to be seasonal, and he issued a reminder that last winter saw sharp increases in cases in California and beyond as more people took part in holiday gatherings.
“Winter is coming. Winter is here,” Newsom said. “And as we are want to be reminded and should be reminded, last year we had a challenging winter, particularly down here in Southern California. We started to see around this time last year case rates, positivity rates, hospitalization rates, ICU numbers, start to increase. We’re starting to see that now all across the globe. We’ve seen those trends, not dissimilar to last year.
“… This in so many ways is part of a pattern that is familiar, and the one thing that can interrupt that pattern is the one thing we’re here to promote, and that’s increasing your immunity that does wane after a number of months, six or so months, by getting a booster shot and reminding everybody of the opportunity to get their first shot if they haven’t.”

Hey, Rocky
They say your tongue is loose at both ends.
Is that true cuase your post supports that notion.
Tim Scott says
Painfully evident that you should have been vaccinated against the “lie your butt off” virus.
The first such “reports” were rando dafts on social media that have no credibility or access. They made it up.

Correction got moderated: 58%, not 52% US vax rate. Oops.
America's Most Dog Loving says
Puerto Rico’s health care system is deficient and underfunded by US standards but the island was very successful at combating the pandemic. The vaccination rate is 74% vs. 52% in The States.
They were still recovering from two hurricanes and an earthquake. Non-profits were on the ground and ready to distribute and administer vaccines. Trump sent an early shipment of Pfizer jabs. The people were desperate and did not politicize the issue — they didn’t have the luxury. They cooperated to a greater extent than we do on the mainland and it worked.
I have several relatives on the Island that are near and over 100 years old, and they did well. Is there a lesson to be learned here?
William says
In a recent COSTCO travel mailer, there was an ad for a Puerto Rico vacation. Huh?
I know they country can use the tourist dollars but …..
There’s also a tv commercial for Peru. Never saw one of those before.

I don’t think they allow “all inclusive” resorts in PR (maybe because of free booze ??). I could be wrong (usually am) but it seems “all inclusive” resorts are all outside US jurisdiction. I wish PR could compete with Cancun and Jamaica because PR is US soil, it’s very beautiful and they need the industry.

LOL…
Let me guess, you are a person who blathers about “don’t trust the media” while quoting a “report” that appeared on some rando’s twitter feed with no factual basis at all.
Gullible boob.

I’m sure Newsom has been paid off nicely to be promoting the death shot.
Either that or he’s been threatened to
( which I doubt ).
I will never get the death jab.
For any of you who thinks the shot is fine and if you received one get a high powered microscope and look at your blood on a slide. Then Look at someone’s blood without the shot and look at what healthy blood is supposed to look like & you will see there’s a huge problem with the shot blood.
And BTW, it is not a vaccine. It’s still in it’s experimental stages and you are the guinea pig.
Tim Scott says
I have access to high powered microscopes and have engaged in scientific studies of covid vaccine effects on blood, and rather than submit to peer review I have decided to release my findings in the comments section of the AVTimes.
Sure, I’m buying this completely. Why wouldn’t I?

H8…Well, life is in the blood and I’m still alive and well, even after the shots. Keep on keepin on with your high-powered microscope.
Stinger says
Okay… High powered microscope… right…
Okay, then, tell us about your extensive technical education in the use of this microscope, along with the specifications for the type of ‘high powered microscope’ you are supposedly using? While you are at it, why not tell us about the extensive medical education that you have in being a biomolecular scientist to be able to understand what it is you would be seeing? Say, what was your doctoral thesis on? When should we expect publication in a peer reviewed journal, and which one? Surely you can verify your credentials for us all out here in the internets?… No? What a shock.
I think I’ll stick with peer reviewed studies, thank you very much.
h82bsewhonest@gmail.com says
It’s not a vaccine. It is in its experimental stages and you are the guniea pig.
Stinger says
Three flat out lies in one line… Nice try, but ain’t gonna fly.
All three are, indeed, vaccines and are fully approved under the FDA (not experimental) with literally hundreds of millions of doses given worldwide, confirming both efficacy and safety hundreds of millions of times over.
KC Elno says
EUA: approved for Emergency Use Authorization, not tested for decades like most “safe,” vaccines. One would be naive to not worry about possible long-term effects. The FDA has been fatally wrong on many occasions. Google, “DES Babies.”
Tim Scott says
You are out of date.
Stinger says
Not only are you out of date, my chimeric con, but your logic has failed you, yet again. Whether the FDA has any say on it is irrelevant as hundreds of millions (heading up to a billion by now) of doses have been administered worldwide. IF there were the issues that you sacks of trump claim are being hidden by the FDA, it would have already come to light elsewhere… which it hasn’t.
William says
It’s not a vaccine. It’s a breath mint.
No, it’s a candy mint.

Or was that sugar cube really LSD, part of a government or UN plot to take over our bodies like the pod people because the Earth is really flat and we hold the crystals of power ??
Must have been LSD.

People have been trading life span for life style forever; drinking, smoking, carousing, risk taking of every sort imaginable. I can’t say that I myself have ever had a good argument against ‘eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow you may be hit my a bus.’ Point of fact I have been on the eat drink and be merry side of that argument for most of my life.
However, rejecting medicine and courting a curable disease and preventable death offers no upside that I can make out.
