Stopping legal driving says
Southern California car dealers and DMV needs to stop giving people with no California driver’s license that are not here legally this will cut down on hit-and-runs also Southern California has just become a complete joke like our governor and everyone else who runs this state

Can someone interpret this into English? What are they babbling about that “should be stopped”?

Walking in the street…

Have you ever compared walking on the edge of the pavement to walking in the soft dirt alongside the pavement? It’s really easy to say “you should work twice as hard so that drivers are not being made to look out for you,” especially when you are a driver and think the world should revolve around you.
Interesting historical note: when Palmdale was negotiating with the developer for the AV Mall the deal was supposed to include widening and finishing (curbs gutters and sidewalks) 10th street all the way into Lancaster. Lancaster city government refused to allow the paid for improvements because they didn’t want to make it easier for Lancaster residents to get to the mall…out of basic spite over having lost the mall proposal contest.

Those were fun times. I remember sitting in several Palmdale city council meetings when Mr. Tom Combiths explained it would be worth the 17.7 million in tax-exempt bonds needed for this project, eliminating Lancaster as a contender. Then, Palmdale was able to get buy in with Sears and JC Penney stores; at the time one of the top 10 sales tax producers for Lancaster. I am still waiting for Steve Dukett’s promise of a second “larger” mall in Lancaster…..

I moved here in 90 right before the Mall was built on an undeveloped intersection with nothing on all 4 corners like the SR-14 and any of the avenues like D.
At the same time, I had to go to Lancaster to buy anything but groceries. Places like Duke n Slims later Duke. I couldn’t help noticing as i drove around Lancaster that it looked like stores and other buildings fell out of the sky and landed here and there with no, absolutley no planinng. Still looks that way.
The Cinemark by the Factory Outlet? Did it fall earthward far away from restaurants and other busineeses? At least the one in the Mall area is surrounded by restaurants if one desires to dine and see a movie or have drinks afterward.
I don’t go to the Mall often but I do go to the surrounding businesses which is great and in walking distance. THAT’S smart planning Palmdale. Everything came to me because I’m special that way. In-Shape, BJ’s Brew House, and Restaurant, car wash, Walmart, Sam’s Club, Home Depot and Lowe’s within blocks of each other, BevMo, TRADER JOE’S, Petsmart and on and on plus dozens of places to eat.
Ah, Lancaster. What happened to ya? Ya didn’t start out good and then got worse. Who* do ya think bears some responsibility for its failed attempts while Palmdale grew and developed into the Antelope Valley’s Premier City? Hint: there are 2 people who are responsible for Lancaster’s failure and Palmdale’s success. One in each city. Snarky answers will reveal more about their author than the question.
